9 Gifts Ideas to Promote a Good Night’s Sleep

Good sleep and proper rest are essential to stay healthy physically and support our emotional well-being. Still, sadly, many of us are not getting the sleep we need to wake up feeling rested and with the energy to mark off our Christmas shopping list and enjoy the holidays.

I’m sure you can think of a friend or family member who is not getting proper sleep or is dealing with anxiety, or maybe they’ve just been out of sorts lately. That's why I’ve created a list of practical gifts (befitting any budget) that are proven to influence sleep positively.

After all, nothing says “I care” like helping a loved one prioritize an area of health that makes life easier, longer, and happier. And, of course, self-care is the best care, so feel free to spoil yourself with any of these gifts.

First, we’ll keep it sweet and simple.

Sleep Teas -  $5.99+

Tea is a gifting staple suitable for any time of year but is especially loved in colder months and around the holidays. If your friend is a tea or coffee drinker, sleep teas can be a great way to calm down before bed.

There are blends of tea specifically formulated with herbs that promote relaxation and improved sleep quality. Chamomile, lavender, and valerian root are popular examples that have been used for centuries.  My favorite tea brands are Yogic tea and Tippi Teas

Different blends have different benefits for ailments that influence sleep quality, such as reducing stress, soothing the mind, promoting healthy digestion, and improving overall mood. It’s an inexpensive product, so you could gift an assortment of tea to cover the bases and ensure a blend in there that they’re certain to fall in love with!

Handcrafted Soap - $9.99

With blends ranging from Himalaya pink salt to activated charcoal and tea tree, Ashley Marie Soap is a real treat for any natural skincare lover.  My personal favorite is the lemongrass soap. It can be used any time of day, but its citrusy notes are energizing and suitable for feeling invigorated after a morning shower.

If you’re a lavender fan, look at her Lavender soap. The relaxing properties of lavender are perfect for a friend to add to their nighttime bath or shower to help them unwind at night after a hectic day.

When you gift a friend something like soap, you contribute and encourage them to enjoy their self-care practice and spoil themself a little extra during the holidays.

Ayurvedic Oils - $15.99 +

Ayurveda is the sister science of yoga, using nature as its pharmacy. Ayurveda aims to prevent and treat illness by maintaining balance in the body, mind, and consciousness with a proper diet and lifestyle and using natural herbal remedies that are believed to have healing and balancing properties.

Oils are just one of the countless forms these remedies take. I love the ayurvedic oils from Banyan Botanicals. My favorite is the Vatta oil, but I also use the Sleep Easy Oil™ a lot. Banyan Botanicals blend is well suited to calm the nerves and mind before bed.

In Ayurveda, sleep is considered one of the most vital aspects of well-being. With it being among the Three Pillars of Life, the basic principle is that a person needs proper sleep because the body relies heavily on that time to heal, rejuvenate the organs, and energize. Otherwise, we risk forming imbalances and encouraging the onset of poor health.

Sleep Simplified: Simple Tools to Reduce Anxiety, Finish the Stress Cycle, and Sleep like a Queen - $24.99

Do you dream of falling asleep within minutes of your head hitting the pillow? Can you imagine going to bed each night feeling calm and relaxed, sleeping soundly, and waking up feeling rested and energized? Dreamy sleep and daytime energy can be your reality with Sleep Simplified!

This book is for women who:

  • need more sleep or wake up feeling tired

  • can’t fall asleep at night or wake up in the middle of the night with a racing mind

  • are too busy, burnt out, and know they deserve better

  • are perfectionists or overachievers who power through challenges

In Sleep Simplified, I share simple yet life-changing tools I discovered during my insomnia journey. These tools have helped hundreds of clients create unique sleep recipes, rediscover rest and rejuvenation, and reclaim their energy to live life to the fullest.

Insight Timer - $59.99 year

Insight Timer is the leading meditation timer and platform where you can find my yoga Nidra meditations to fall asleep faster and my favorite sleep music.

Insight Timer is the #1  FREE sleep, anxiety, and stress app. Yes, it is free, but you have the option to upgrade the app to get access to thousands of workshops and special features like being able to put my yoga Nidra meditation on repeat when you can fall asleep at night, to feel rested in the morning even if you didn’t get a full night’s sleep.

Hand-carved Stone Diffuser - $99

Shades of Stone has a beautiful, real, hand-carved stone diffuser that’s a home decor piece and scents your bedroom with natural essential oils. It has perfect, natural, cozy lighting that illuminates through its translucent onyx stone design and lets you turn off your bedroom lights.

Make sure to add the Mantle essential oil to your order to support a healthy immune system and fall asleep easily (it’s my favorite). And the Latte essential oil to boost your energy in the morning with the fresh smell of coffee – without the extra caffeine.

Now, on to gifts for those who are looking to up the ante or who may be shopping for a tech aficionado.

oura ring - $299 +

I recently bought this ring, and I’m loving it. Oura is a brilliant ring, the most innovative, stylish wearable on the market. Your Oura Ring tracks over 20 biometric signals, all from your finger.

Oura reminds you when to start winding down to improve your sleep quality. Discover if you're getting enough deep sleep, REM sleep, and light sleep. By detecting your blood oxygen levels at night, Oura can tell if you're experiencing any breathing disturbances. And so much more.

Luxury Mattress - $1,795+

Nothing beats restlessness like a quality mattress - we sleep on them for hours at a time, so it only makes sense to invest in one you love. I have had the Luxury Firm Mattress for years, and I LOVE IT!

Investing in a mattress that promotes proper spinal alignment and good sleeping posture is essential. A poor-quality mattress, on the other hand, will do the exact opposite and could have you tossing and turning all night in discomfort or waking up at times that disrupt your sleep cycle. The same principles apply to the pillow you sleep on, so why not pair your luxury mattress with a Memory Foam Pillow

Conclusion

When it’s all said and done, the thought counts, so it doesn’t matter what you buy for yourself, a client, a coworker, or a new friend; give it with tons of love without expecting anything in return.

The simple act of showing that you care with a small token is enough to make anyone’s day and have a positive impact on their sleep and emotional well-being.

I just learned from my favorite bookkeepers that you could deduct up to $25 when buying gifts for clients and team members, so this might be the sign you need to pamper your clients and team members with any of these gift ideas to promote a good night’s sleep.

Let’s not forget that good quality and proper sleep promotes productivity and lifts the spirit and mood.

I hope you enjoyed this list. Feel free to share it with a friend who might need a gift idea or better sleep.  I hope you enjoy these items as much as I do.

Avocado hugs,

Monica
