9 Gifts Ideas to Promote a Good Night’s Sleep

Good sleep and proper rest are essential for staying physically healthy and supporting our emotional well-being. Still, sadly, many of us are not getting the sleep we need to wake up feeling rested and with the energy to mark off our Christmas shopping list and enjoy the holidays.

I’m sure you can think of a friend or family member who is not getting proper sleep, is dealing with anxiety, or has just been out of sorts lately. That's why I’ve created a list of practical gifts (befitting any budget) that are proven to positively influence sleep.

After all, nothing says “I care” like helping a loved one prioritize an area of health that makes life easier, longer, and happier. And, of course, self-care is the best care, so feel free to spoil yourself with any of these gifts.

First, we’ll keep it sweet and simple.

Handcrafted Soap - $10

With blends ranging from Himalaya pink salt to activated charcoal and tea tree, Ashley Marie Soap is a real treat for any natural skincare lover.  My personal favorite is the Lemongrass Patchouli Soap. It can be used any time of day, but its citrusy notes are energizing and suitable for feeling invigorated after a morning shower.

Also, take a look at her Raindrops Soap. Its relaxing properties, combined with a unique blend of essential oils of vetiver and lemon—and it honestly smells like rain—make it perfect for a friend to add to their nighttime bath or shower to help them unwind after a hectic day while moisturizing their skin.

When you gift a friend something like soap, you contribute and encourage them to enjoy their self-care practice and spoil themself a little extra during the holidays.

How To Meditate mini-course - $11

Do you want to meditate—or meditate more regularly? Maybe you feel terrible about it and avoid it, even though you know the benefits are worth it. Meditation can improve sleep quality and duration, reduce stress, and lower your heart rate, making it easier to relax your body and mind in preparation for sleep.

Meghan Jones is a certified holistic health coach who learned and became proficient in meditation through trial and error. She went from struggling as a beginner to maintaining a daily morning meditation practice. If she can do it, you can, too! Over these 10 days, you’ll ease into meditation with short, manageable sessions. Each video is a simple, guided experience lasting only 6 to 11 minutes.

Sometimes, the best gift you can give your loved ones over the holidays is a relaxed and present “you.” And you might achieve that in 10 days or less with Megan’s mini-course. See if this program is right for you or your loved one.

Ayurvedic Oils - $12

Ayurveda is the sister science of yoga, using nature as its pharmacy. It aims to prevent and treat illness by maintaining balance in the body, mind, and consciousness with a proper diet and lifestyle and using natural herbal remedies believed to have healing and balancing properties.

Oils are just one of the countless forms these remedies take. I love the ayurvedic oils from Banyan Botanicals. My favorite is the Vatta oil, but I also often use their Sleep Easy Oil blend, which is well suited to calm the nerves and mind before bed.

In Ayurveda, sleep is considered one of the most vital aspects of well-being. It is among the Three Pillars of Life, and the basic principle is that a person needs proper sleep because the body relies heavily on that time to heal, rejuvenate the organs, and energize. Otherwise, we risk forming imbalances and encouraging the onset of poor health.

Tackling Money Issues as a Team: A Mini-Course for Couples - $37

Stress and anxiety are often the underlying cause of sleep issues. And what's one of the top reasons people feel stressed? Money.

Money is consistently one of the top three reasons couples get divorced; for couples who stay together, it is one of the top two reasons they argue.

But you don't have to be in a relationship to lie awake worrying about money. According to a Capital One survey, three in four Americans report feeling anxious about money, and over 50% report worrying about money at least once every 24 hours.

This mini-course will help you get to the root cause of these worries. It's not a course on budgeting, debt, or spreadsheets but rather a simple framework for having conversations about money without conflict.

Insight Timer - $60

Insight Timer is the leading meditation timer and platform where you can find my yoga nidra meditations, which help you fall asleep faster and sleep deeper.

Insight Timer is the #1  FREE sleep, anxiety, and stress app. Yes, it is free, but you can upgrade the app to access thousands of workshops and unique features, like putting my yoga Nidra meditation on repeat when you wake up in the middle of the night and can’t seem to turn off your brain.

Even if you didn’t get a whole night’s sleep by listening to this meditation all night, you will feel rested in the morning,

Hand-carved Stone Diffuser - $99

Shades of Stone has a beautiful, natural, hand-carved stone diffuser that’s a home decor piece and scents your bedroom with natural essential oils. It has perfect, natural, cozy lighting that illuminates through its translucent onyx stone design and lets you turn off your bedroom lights.

Make sure to add the Mantle essential oil to your order to support a healthy immune system and help you fall asleep quickly (it’s my favorite). Also, add the Latte essential oil to boost your energy in the morning with the fresh smell of coffee—without the extra caffeine.

Luxury Mattress - $2,095+

Nothing beats restlessness like a quality mattress - we sleep on them for hours at a time, so it only makes sense to invest in one you love. I have had the Luxury Firm Mattress for years, and I LOVE IT!

Investing in a mattress that promotes proper spinal alignment and good sleeping posture is essential. A poor-quality mattress, on the other hand, will do the exact opposite and could have you tossing and turning all night in discomfort or waking up at times that disrupt your sleep cycle. The same principles apply to the pillow you sleep on, so why not pair your luxury mattress with a Memory Foam Pillow

Conclusion

When it’s all said and done, the thought counts, so it doesn’t matter what you buy for yourself, a client, a coworker, or a new friend; give it with tons of love without expecting anything in return.

The simple act of showing that you care with a small token is enough to make anyone’s day and have a positive impact on their sleep and emotional well-being.

I learned from my favorite bookkeepers that you can deduct up to $25 when buying gifts for clients and team members. This might be the sign you need to pamper your clients and team members with these gift ideas to promote a good night’s sleep.

Let’s not forget that good quality and proper sleep promote productivity and lift the spirit and mood.

I hope you enjoyed this list. Please share it with a friend who might need a gift idea or better sleep.  I hope you enjoy these items as much as I do.

Avocado hugs,

Monica
